This module
aims to introduce students to professional practice at work in the industry,
which will demonstrate the design and innovation skills and practices performed
by leading national florists and floral designers.
This week some students have been creating table designs using a range of different skills, techniques and inspiration from key European Designers.
Kirsty Green working with the wax to cover a hand made container for the design below.
Roxanne Downs - the design created from cardboard
rolled to create an interesting feature whilst keeping the long
stems straight.
The final design is complimented with Phalaenopsis 'red lips'.
Emma Nelson - created a table lamp design using a recycled glass bottle filled with poste-create as the base, decorated with orchids, craspedia and ornitholgalum.
Maureen Kelham used cardboard to create different levels to her design and slotted the frame and flowers to secure in place - flowers used Longiflorum, ornitholagum and craspedia.
A Car decoration to attach to the boot - designed and constructed be Fiona Waddingham. Fiona soaked the flat strips to create curves and bends that form the bee of the design.
Bouquet designed and constructed by Theresa O'Grady - incorporated a cardboard frame covered with soft material befor adding the flowers.
